for a Minerva Fellowship



Please prepare your application to the Minerva Fellowship Programme thoroughly before starting the online application process. To do so, consult the Minerva website and the regulations.

In order to apply for a Minerva Fellowship, you will need to find a host and a host institution in Germany or Israel. The host institution shall provide the adequate environment for your proposed research concept and be willing/able to host you.

Please prepare the information and documents for your application in advance, since you will not be able to save or change the application form while the application process on the online platform.

The following documents are required for your application:

• CV (including publications)

• Certificates (in English or German):

- B.A./B.Sc., M.A./M.Sc. degrees with its final grades + Transcripts of records

- PhD (post-doctoral applicants only)

• Research proposal

• External letters:

- Letter of Invitation from your host (institution)

- Two letters of recommendation

If not stated otherwise, we would need all documents in English and as one single PDF-document!

Please make sure that your email and contact data remain valid until the end of the evaluation process. You can submit your University Certificates in English or German (B.A./B.Sc., M.A./M.Sc., and Ph.D.). We would need your Transcripts of records and the degree with its final grades.

Your Research Proposal should not exceed five pages. (References are not included in these five pages.) The Abstract of the proposal should include 5-10 keywords, the Summary (up to 200 words) should by all means be written in laymen's terms (for committee members who are not familiar with your field of research), and should contain a generally comprehensive description of the project, also indicating its scientific aims.

Data Privacy Statement


The collected data will be processed for the purposes of assessment, statistics and evaluation only. The Minerva Fellowship Committee consist of selected scientists from Germany and Israel. The submitted data will be stored on servers belonging to the Max Planck Society. Individual and secured access to the data will be granted via state-of-the art method of encoding.
